Amac

Amac is the largest Apple Premium Reseller in the Netherlands, selling the full Apple range across more than 50 physical stores and online. That combination, a large store estate alongside a high-volume webshop, makes payments a genuine unified commerce challenge rather than a single-channel one.

The challenge

Amac’s move to a unified commerce model meant their existing payment setup no longer fit. Online and in-store payments needed to run on one infrastructure, which called for a new payment service provider capable of serving both channels coherently rather than two separate arrangements stitched together.

The approach

EcomStream stepped in after the initial PSP choice had been made and took the negotiation the rest of the way. A large part of the value was cutting through the noise: the commercial picture a PSP presents is rarely transparent, and EcomStream made the real terms, the real costs and the real trade-offs clear and legible for Amac, so the decision rested on facts rather than on the provider’s framing.

Negotiating both channels in one contract gave Amac more leverage than handling each separately would have, since online and in-store payments carry different cost structures and risk profiles that are stronger combined.

The outcome

The new contract delivered a six-figure annual saving, alongside sharper rates, lower fees and stronger Terms and Service Level Agreements covering performance and reliability. Amac now runs on a single, more cost-effective and scalable payment infrastructure across all channels, structured to support growth rather than constrain it.
