Retail Payment Methods Transparency Index connector

The Retail Payment Methods Transparency Index can be read directly by AI assistants through this connector, an MCP server published by EcomStream. It answers from the same data as the index on this site, so an answer in an assistant matches what the index shows.

Connector

What it answers

  • Which providers in the index offer a payment method to a merchant established in a given country, selling to shoppers in a given country, online, in-store or both, and the price each provider publishes for it.
  • Every price one provider publishes in the index.
  • How a payment method works: where shoppers pay with it, chargeback exposure, who may refuse a payment, why a payment can fail, and any fee the method owner charges directly.
  • The payment methods and providers in the index, and its scope.

Connector

How answers are given

  • Prices are given as the provider prints them, with the pricing model and the date they were read at source.
  • Providers are listed alphabetically.
  • Where a provider in the index publishes no price for a method, the answer says so.
  • The index covers a panel of providers that actively serve retailers and brands, not every provider in a market.
  • Merchants established in the EU, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are covered, Cyprus and Malta excepted.

Payment set-up check

Or start with your webshop: the check sets your checkout against what shoppers in each of your markets expect, and names the gaps. If you want, it then calculates what those gaps cost you in euros.
